Our Story

the beginning of forever…

Before We Met

It was about time to return for my service year in Imo state after the first wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic. But I was reluctant because I never wanted to serve in the East. And my several attempts to redeploy to Oyo state had proven abortive. The only consolation for packing my bags was that I would be living in the NCCF family house (Nigeria Christian Corpers’ Fellowship) – a place I believed wouldn’t make me miss so much on what I had back at home.

When We Met

I met my husband during my service year in Imo state at the NCCF family house in 2020. We both served in the state secretariat and while he was the General Secretary of the fellowship, I was his Assistant.
Buuuuuuuuut don’t even guess! We were not best of friends as both of us didn’t get along with each other. While I saw him as a leader who was choking into my time and personal plans as a corps member, he saw me as a lady who was not ready to serve.
But as time went by, I got to understand my assignment in the office and adjusted quite well. Also, my husband and the President of the fellowship taught me a few lessons about life and service which I would never ever forget.
Believe me, the family house is a place of growth and learning for anyone with an open heart. I learned, unlearned and relearned.

Love Happened

Then I started to do my duties joyfully and even exceeded their expectations.
I also became friends with the two, and bonded quite well, especially with my husband. He would give me scriptures to study, teach me the word of God and also pray with me. Working with him became so much enlightening and easy as if it was not the same duties I once complained about.
Sadly, my time in the family house and as a corps member passed irrevocably; and I had to leave Imo state, back to Osun state, where I came from. My husband still had a tenure to run in NCCF, so we had to say our goodbyes and parted ways with each other.

Ever After

But he came back!
He didn’t spare a second after he handed over and returned from Imo state before he proposed marriage to me!
Funnily enough, we have both heard God on different occasions that we were going to be husband and wife someday. But it seemed very funny and unusual that we both didn’t pay attention! He was uncle and I was aunty – very unusual!!!
Well, here we are today, looking forward to our big day, set to tie the knot in holy matrimony.
Journeying with my husband for the past few years has been the best experience of my life. He’s my perfect gift from God and I am truly grateful for him.
